Properties
White powdery crystals, easily soluble in water, aqueous solution nearly neutral, insoluble in ethanol. It is often used as monohydrate (Na3HP2O7• H2O) form exists, crystalline water is not easy to get off. Heated to more than 170 °C, it can be slowly decomposed into disodium disodium pyrophosphate and sodium pyrophosphate; Decomposed above 240 °C into metaphosphate .
